Ohio is, and will be, a toss-up for the next week or so. We all wanted a clear Kerry victory; nothing we say now can make it so. Much, and a disturbingly far too many, are distracted by the arguments of the right.
It doesn't matter; Democrats existed as a force only a year ago and we have brought "God's" chosen to the brink of defeat.
The most significant issue in battle-ground states, according to late exit-polls: moral values -- that means the people that said okay to moderate gay rights were too ashamed to admit their bigotry -- if we lose this election, it was because terror regarding Bush's incompetence was met with equal terror over some modicum of gay rights.
